This year the Smith College tennis team has created a t-shirt. It is based on a survey published in the Boston Globe about how participation in college athletics has helped many females succeed in business careers. The t-shirts cost $15 and are available in a variety of colors and sizes: white (S, M, L, XL), heather gray (L, XL), and light blue (L, XL). The writing on the front and back of the t-shirts is as follows*:
Front: SC emblem and Smith Athletics on left breast plate
Back: From the Locker Room to the Board Room
Women say that lessons learned on the playing field have contributed to their
success in business.
86% said participation in a sport helped them to be more disciplined
81% said playing a sport helped them to function better as a part of a team
69% said sports helped develop leadership skills that contributed to their success
68% said sports helped them to deal with failure
59% said organized sports gave them a competitive edge
As a special offer to the Friends of Smith College Tennis, if you purchase 3 t-shirts, you pay only $40 and save $5. The proceeds of this fundraiser go to the Smith College Tennis Team for their spring training trip. Please do not send cash, but make checks payable to Smith College.
